Here you can learn about the different Business / Speech related projects I have done!
From May of 2017 to August of 2017, I was a Financial Analyst Intern at The Scion Group in Chicago. “Founded in 1999, Scion focuses exclusively on ownership, operation and advisory services for student housing, both on and off campus.” Scion has acquired and develpoed student housing facilities for over 60,000 students in universities across the country, representing over $5.0 billion of porject value.
While there, I both helped to underwrite and evaluate a student housing acquisition valued at over $1 billion and contributed to the creation of a dynamic rate setting model for various types of student housing
One of the first classes any student in the Olin School of Business at Wash U takes is Management 100. As any student will tell you, the capstone project is the case competition at the end of the semester. Students are assigned teams and tasked with delivering a consulting-style presentation, with a recommendation for a company that the professor chooses. In the Spring of 2017, I took this class and the company chosen was Verizon. The idea I came up with was to use cell phones at night as a distributed cloud computing network. If you want to see our slideshow, click here. At the end, my team placed first beating the other 45 competing teams. To see the video of the presentation, pleace click here. (Note that this link only works for Wash U Students and faculty. When the presentation is available for non-Wash U affiliated personnel, it will be available here.)

Write on For Israel is a 2-year program that runs during Junior and Senior year of high school. During that time, the students “attend seven full-day Sunday seminars during the junior year of high school, travel to Israel for 10 days during the summer between junior and senior years, travel to Washington, D.C. for an intensive Capitol Hill experience during senior year and enjoy multiple opportunities to apply their new skills in the community”. In addition to my trip to Israel, the highlight of the program happened in Washington DC when I lobbied Bill H.R. 1697. This bill was recently introduced by Illinois Representative Peter Roskam [R-IL-6], and will be voted on by 2019. I am excited to see how my work in the early stages of the bill’s development will one day affect all trade negotiations with the European Union!
